Gazprom is certain that nothing can happen to prevent Gazprom and the EU, as a consumer, from continuing to be important and key partners in the area of the gas market. We know that Russian gas will not be replaced” – noted Alexey Miller. The vital issue of building the Turkish Stream gas pipeline was another topical issue. The political situation prompted Russia to choose a more commercially-oriented option. The construction of the South Stream was cancelled and a new project, the Turkish Stream, initiated.
